I received the Store Specialist, Inc. GCs a couple of days ago. Got them for free btw, all 4000Php of them! Good karma to the max!
So this evening I went to JackSpade (where else?!) to spend my not-so-hard-earned gift certificates. The Jack Spade Vertical Messenger bag, the orange one, had about a 20US$ discount.
I know, it’s orange. But I’m paying less than 500Php (I didn’t use all the GCs), and it’s summer, so why not?
When practically free things fall into my lap, I just love it! What can I say… when the universe can’t provide you with a Valentine, it surely knows how to compensate lol
Found this pair of shoes at the Philosophy Store in Serendra, after dinner during Avenue Q night.
These shoes are on consignment from an artist who handpaints them. No two pairs are alike. Kewl no?!
My friend Carl decides to pose with the shoes.
I want!
Post script: Sorry again Carl for my screw-up the other day. Haaayz
For those who have been wanting a Moto Q 9h, I lifted this out of the CNET Asia Review:
The good: QWERTY keypad; HSDPA (3.5G) connectivity; dual processors.
The bad: No Wi-Fi; screen could be slightly wider.
The bottom line: The Q 9h has one of the best smart phone keypads we have used and the Windows Mobile 6 software moves along fairly speedily. It’s definitely one of the better models out there at the moment.
CNET Rating: 8/10
User Rating: 4/10
I think the only downside of this phone is the lack of Wifi.
Saw this at bizjournals.com
Gap Inc. is upping its commitment to international expansion through franchises.
The company said Tuesday that it, with help from its franchise partner Rustan Group of Cos., will open eight Gap stores and four Banana Republic stores throughout the Philippines over the next five years. The first Gap store will open by year’s end and the first Banana Republic will open by spring 2008.
We already know about the Gap stores in Trinoma and G4. Heck, I already made my first purchase last weekend. But I’m also excited about Banana Rep
.
I always said 2008 is going to be a great year.
People who do this, don’t make welga, OK? I just find the quote funny…
You know what pisses me off? People who point at the wrist when asking the time, I know where my watch is buddy. Where the f**k is yours? I mean, do I point at my crotch when I ask where the bathroom is?
-Richard Feraro, richardferaro.com
Very reminiscent of J.D. Salinger, I must say…
Over the years, I’ve had my hair done slightly differently. I even went curly when I didn’t want to get a haircut for 5 months. I was stuck in Copenhagen and I didn’t want to pay 1600Php for a haircut.
You see, my hair is straight but gets curly on ends when it grows long enough. As my sister would say, “Parang Santo Nino!”
Now, I’ve been planning to have my hair done UNO or Semi-kalbo.
Any feedback guys?
I know, lame title.
I’m looking into getting a new set of travel bags for my imminent deployment, or shall we say, my Great Equalizer. I’ll explain why I call it that in the next few entries.
I’m thinking of getting the Waxwear Soft Duffle by Jack Spade.
It’s in chocolate with striped lining. I’m loving it. :D
I just hope it’s at the Jack Spade store in Greenbelt 3 though. And the price? Well, I don’t want to get flogged by the price police. It’s definitely not affordable, but attainable.
Since I’m already using The Secret to make my trip a reality, why not put this as an add-on?
When my dad first got me my first CD Player and component, the first cd I bought was a set of instrumental music.
It has Terms of Endearment as one of its tracks, I like!
It’s so old. I think I got it mid 90’s. Fortunately it’s still tucked away in one of my cd racks all these years – one of the racks that I alphabetized. I know! I’m such a nerd.
This cd will be available on Monday at Fully Booked. I can’t wait to hear it.
In this collection of Filipino works composed or arranged for two pianos are compositions that draw inspiration from folk songs, kundimans, European classics, and American popular music—influences that helped shape the unique mélange that is Filipino music today.
I just love it when familiar songs are shown in new light, especially if it’s in the genre that I like.
It makes for a great Christmas gift, doesn’t it?
I got my first Jack Spade Newsletter today. I didn’t subscribe to anything, so I guess the Mister Mort did it for me.
Just look at their space in Boston, a far cry from Greenbelt’s hole-in-the-wall, no?
You like???
For Christmas, this is what I want to buy for myself.
I want!!!
This is the Jack Spade Nylon Canvas Bale Case, in chocolate with bright red lining. I checked the local Jack Spade store and it costs 7000+ Php.
I call on the goddess of discounts, hummmmmm… I’ve been a good boy… I hope Santa’s listening… Santa! Santa Santita! Hahahaha

Update Oct 30 2007, 6:30AM: Mordechai Rubenstein a.k.a. Mister Mort, the famous publicist for Jack Spade, just commented on this entry. I’m so happy huhuhu! (insert tears of joy here)
I heard my jaw drop when Jimmy told me that they saw a Sanuk store in Glorietta. So before my meetings, I made it a point to visit the first Sanuk store in the world. I’m not kidding, it is the first.
I bought the pair of tan slip-ons. I’ve been wanting them for so long that I wore them right away, walking out of the store with my older Sanuks I came in with in tow. This is perfect for me because Sanuks are very comfortable. I know, Havs may be more affordable and just as comfy… but my toes are NOT for public viewing.
I also bought the Springfield sneakers that I’ve been wanting. I had to go to two branches to get my size. At 45% off… very affordable… even if I may not be able to wear it until next year because of the color. I’d have to ask my aunt if it’s OK.
I just love productive Sundays…
As a blogger, I took inspiration from Patrick Ribbsaeter’s Universal Player, in making my site livelier. Forget about his grammatical errors, heck, the guy is a model and not an English Professor. We corresponded a few months ago, when my blog was still very melancholic. He liked my blog and said that it makes one think about things more deeply.
He is in Thailand as of the moment, I think. And I saw this bag from his site. This is from a store named Krane.
If I went to the office with this bag in tow, it would be so… fasyon… hihihihi
I love Rainbow Brite, don’t you?
I heard that the Raibow Brite copyright has been sold to somebody again, that’s why the movies were removed from Youtube. Anyway, this thing below is one shirt that I don’t get
I was about to make a long commentary on this when Santino (from Project Runway 2) popped into my head, singing – Lighten up it’s just fashion, lighten up it’s just fashion… hahahaha
I love this song by Carrie Underwood, the chorus of Starts with Goodbye goes like this:
I guess it’s gonna have to hurt,
I guess I’m gonna have to cry,
And let go of some things I’ve loved,
To get to the other side,
I guess it’s gonna break me down,
Like falling when you try to fly,
It’s sad, but sometimes moving on with the rest of your life,
Starts with goodbye.
May point siya dun. (She’s got a point there.) You have to draw the line somewhere and stand on it, whatever it takes – just what Sidney Poitier said. This is academy award winner and trail blazer Sidney Poitier with his daughter Sidney Tamiia Poitier.
I just went to Carrie’s official site today and heard her sing these lines:
Sometimes that mountain you’ve been climbing is just a grain of sand
What you’ve been up there searching for
forever is in your hands
When you figure out love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
seem so small-So Small
When I look at the big picture, whatever I’m going through right now, it’s nothing compared to the last few years of my life.
Now here comes the mother of all relatable songs from Carrie’s album - I Just Can’t Live a Lie. Hold up your tissues as you read this.
Oh, I know I could say we’re through
And tell myself I’m over you
But even if I made a vow
I promise not to miss you now
And try to hide the truth inside
I’d fail cause I, I just can’t live a lie
Ouch! This song is just one big proverbial pinch in the singit.
They’re sandals.
They are so comfortable that you don’t have to break into these shoes, err sandals. I bought the Donny ones with the blue stripes.
Check www.sanuk.com for their line. These are available at Rustans.
I saw this at Jack Spade last night.

The colorful lining is also made of nylon, which makes it weather-resistant.
It’s the Drill Nylon Travel Kit from Jack Spade. It has a 25% discount at the Greenbelt store. Very tempting, isn’t it?
